Opanka Construction or Opanka Handcrafted Construction is the process that Born uses to attach the outsole, sock liner & upper together in one step. This technique offers many benefits. It creates flexibility, durability & “ultra cushioning” which helps the shoe rebound with every step.

Are Born Shoes made out of real leather?

Yes. Born uses high quality full-grain, Italian, metallic or nubuck leather. Periodically they will have a style made from canvas or wool, but rest-assured that they use only high-quality materials.

Where are Born Shoes made?

Born styles are made in multiple different factories. They have some styles that are made in Mexico while others are made in Cambodia or China.
