Women's Vans

Vans was started in 1966 by brothers Paul & Jim Van Doren along with partners Gordon Lee and Serge Delia as the Van Doren Rubber Company which manufactures shoes on the premises to sell directly to the public. On the first day 12 people purchased shoes which they were able to pick up that afternoon. Through the years we have come to know Vans for their vulcanized construction, waffle outsoles, and up-to-the-minute style. Their simple design, paired with their ability to stay on trend has made Vans an iconic look that everyone wants in their wardrobe.

Vans Men's Shoes & Vans Women's Shoes

Vans got its start in Anaheim, California in 1966. The Van Doren brothers, paired with Gordon Lee & Serge Delia opened The Van Doren Rubber company. They manufactured shoes on-site and sold them directly to the public. The first Vans shoe they created was the Style 44 which is now known as the Authentic.

Through the years Vans has dipped their toes (pun intended) into a variety of different sports including skateboarding, BMX, surfing, snowboarding & more. Their innovation paired with their classic style continues to keep Vans relevant through ever-changing trends.

Vans Skate Shoes

Any pair of Vans sneakers are the best shoes for skateboarding. All Vans are constructed with performance, accessibility and durability in mind, and thus offer a wide range of styles to choose from. We at Dodds carry a large portion of Vans shoes for men and women in various styles. Such as the classic Vans Old Skool shoes, the Authentic, the Era among many others to choose from. All styles are perfect to enjoy endless hours at the skate park comfortably, or just to wear everyday as a fashion statement.

Slip-On Shoes Vans

The Vans Slip-On styles are an easy on shoe with all the best qualities of classic Vans style. Slip-ons are perfect for those quick on the go days, but still have the quality rubber grip outsole, with the canvas upper and padded tongue. Still great for spending the day on a board at the park, just easier to put on and take off. Find your favorite Vans Slip-Ons among many other Vans styles today!

Vans Running Shoes

Vans is renowned for its skateboarding shoes, and is not traditionally known for its running shoes. While they have released a few styles that could be considered for light running or everyday wear, they are not typically designed with the same level of performance technology found in shoes crafted specifically for running. It may be wise to explore options from brands that specialize in athletic footwear.

Do Vans Shoes Run Big or Small?

Vans shoes are sized according to the US standard; the size conversion from women's to men's shoes is 1.5 sizes down. For example, if you were a size 8 in women's, you'd be a size 6.5 in men's.Vans typically run true to size, so whatever shoe size you have now should be your size with any Vans you choose.

What are Vans shoes made of?

Vans are known for their classic canvas uppers & vulcanized rubber outsoles, but they now have styles made from multiple different materials such as leather or EVA. To see material info for specific styles consult the details tab on the product page.

Where are Vans shoes made?

Although Vans was originally a California based company with manufacturing in the United States, in the late 1990s Vans moved most of its manufacturing operations to China & Vietnam.

What are Vans’ most popular styles?

Authentic: The original Vans shoe, known for its simple design and low-top profile
Era: Similar to the Authentic, but with padded collars for extra comfort
Old Skool: The first Vans shoe with the now-iconic sidestripe
Sk8-Hi: A high-top version of the Old Skool, popular among skaters
Classic Slip-On: A laceless shoe that's easy to put on and take off

-Brush off dirt & debris with a soft brush
-Spot clean with a damp cloth & mild soap
-Allow the shoes to air dry completely before wearing them again

How Do You Lace Vans Shoes?

The beauty of owning your own pair of Van shoes is that you can lace them up in any way you like. There is no technical right way to do it, just any way you see fit. They can be laced up like a regular sneaker, or in a crisscross pattern to add a fun flair. You can lace them so that the ends are hidden in the shoe, or so that they are knotted on the outside. The possibilities are truly endless.

Are Vans Non-Slip Shoes for Restaurants?

First let us answer the question: Are Vans non-slip shoes? Yes! The diamond and rhomboid pattern design on the rubber outsoles provides great grip and traction, often praised by many skaters for its grip and support while on the board. As far as if Vans work well in a restaurant setting, yes and no. While Vans have good traction, there are specific styles of Vans that are made to meet the needs of restaurant workers in protection and slip-resistance.
