Crafted in premium suede leather, suede is a split leather with a napped finish featuring a velvety surface that is very soft to the touch, and boasts high moisture absorption capacity. Birkenstock uses sturdy leather with a thickness of 2.8 to 3.2 millimeters as upper material, ensuring these sandals are built to last season after season.
At the heart of every Arizona is the legendary Birkenstock footbed. The construction — thought out to the smallest detail — makes it feel like you're standing in sand, helping your feet feel as comfortable as possible for hours on end. The deep molding in the heel area supports the foot tissue and holds the heel bone firmly in its natural position, providing the foot with nearly as much support as a closed shoe.
The contoured cork-latex footbed creates custom support that molds to your foot with wear, meaning the longer you wear them, the better they feel. Cork is a sustainable material extracted from the bark of the cork oak — a natural product that is insulating and offers very good cushioning.
Finished with two adjustable straps and metal pin buckles, the Arizona offers a personalized fit for narrow and regular widths. Made in Germany, every pair reflects Birkenstock's uncompromising commitment to quality and craftsmanship.

I just love the Arizona, black suede sandals. This is my second pair in four years. I wanted to buy this version in the spring of 2020, yet they were all sold out. I was thrilled to be able to get them from Dodd's Shoe Company. They arrived in a swift manner and are perfect. I wear them all year round and they are perfect for slippers too.
I purchased these for the fall so that I can wear them with socks when the weather gets cooler. They are great looking and comfortable. Beware, the black dye from the suede does bleed onto my feet leaving black "stripes". Hopefully after wearing them a few times, that will stop.
Best sandals ever! Love them! I have plantar faciatis and I can wear these with no problems and my feet feel great. I have to be really careful or they will act up. I highly suggest these. The soft footbed is perfect.
