Kizik's story centers on the innovation of "hands-free" footwear. Founded in 2017, the company's roots trace back to Mike Pratt's vision of creating shoes that could be easily slipped on without needing to bend down or tie laces. This led to the development of their patented HandsFree Labs® technology, which utilizes an internal cage to enable seamless, hands-free entry. While the company began in 2017, the innovation behind the technology began in 2009. After securing many patents, Kizik began to grow, and has continued to expand, including moving into brick and mortar locations in 2023.
