Giesswein Andau Loafer Taupe (Unisex)
My Alternate Slipper Choice
I have been wearing Haflinger ATB73 slippers for many years. This year I wanted to find an alternative for when my usual are not readily available. After a lengthy search I think I found it. The goal was to find a comfortable, boiled wool and hard soled all-season slipper. The slipper is wide enough for me. The elastic back and sides hold it on yet I can slip it on from the floor without reaching down to assist. I have not found the latex rubber sole to loose traction around the house. The only aspect that was a bit different and needs mentioning is except for a very slight arch it is a very flat design. The heel feels like it is almost a negative heel compared to the Haflinger. It took me a few minutes to get used to the feel. (I'm 65 and like things in a certain way. This was different.) Now I'm debating if I want to buy a second pair for when these wear out.
Giesswein is not only a global brand renowned for quality - it is also a family name. Three generations of the Giesswein family have guided the company during itís 55-year history. The tyrol region of Austria is considered by many to be the most beautiful corner of the Alps. Our product, quality, and success is very much a reflection of the region in which we live and work. Surrounded by pristine lakes and rivers, sparkling glaciers, snow-capped peaks, and pastoral valleys, nature has been our inspiration since day one. Our tradition of hard work, reliable quality, and respect for nature is the backbone of our success over the years.
