Haflinger GZH42 Grizzly Closed Heel Clog Smokey Brown (Unisex)
After 37 years in my Haflinger clogs, I thought to try the closed heel. In my size (45) it was to hard to get into with the closed heel. Mind you, it would be better for frisbee, but i sent it back easily and repurchased the larger 46 without the closed heel. Feels a little big but my toes are not touching now, with room for winter socks. both of my feet are 12" long. Breathable felt is the best.
This is an update to my previous review of several days ago. I had mentioned a somewhat tight entry into the clog and needing to have thin, not thick, wool socks on. I've since tried some of my thicker wool socks and the clogs are no more difficult to put on. I can slip them on while standing; I do have to wiggle my foot a bit but they end up slipping right on.
I will definitely recommend Dodd's and Haflinger clogs to my friends and family. Happy customer!
I am reviewing these Haflinger clogs as slippers, but they would also be perfect for daily wear to work and around town.
My past several pairs of wool slippers have ended up with a very sloppy fit over time, which has caused tripping. I’m 73 and don’t need to be tripping, especially on the stairs where it seemed to happen most. So I was looking for slippers that would be less likely to stretch out so much, but still made with wool, good support and a sole that can venture outside to the compost now and then.
I LOVE these Haflingers! I love the looks and the fit and comfort. They were comfortable right out of the box and I appreciate the extra support and the cork mid sole for extra warmth. I am hoping that the ‘entry’ relaxes a bit with time. Right now I can just barely put them on ‘no hands’, but only with my thinnest wool socks. But, I really wanted the closed heel for security.

Haflinger makes the most comfortable slippers. The built-in arch provides great support and the woolen upper will keep your feet toasty in the Fall and Winter.
Dodd’s SC is great. All of my orders have always shipped promptly and accurately. I do wish Haflinger had a blue-colored upper in a men’s slipper.
Daughter loves the wool clogs but she wanted the brown not the gray. We appreciate the quick shipping though!
I am very picky about my shoes. I wore out my clogs and replaced my open heel clog with the Haflinger closed heel. Fits perfect and is top shelf in design and functionality. The Dodds Shoe Co. was efficient and professional with the order processing and delivery. I will use them again.
These are the best shoes I have ever had to wear all the time in the house. I have never found a slipper type of shoe that wasn't too slippery or sloppy feeling. The Hafflinger is perfectly contoured on the inside. Not too hot, not too cold. My plantar fascia went away the moment I put on the previous pair I had. Those were worn to tatters, but, I may sew up the holes in the toes and wear them in the summer as garden shoes. I bought a pair for my husband also. He wears them all the time..
This is my husband's 2nd pair of Haflinger's closed heel Grizzlies. He wore a hole in the toe of one of them after 3-4 years. Loved them so much, he had to have another pair. Expect he will love these as well.
I have been buying these slippers for my husband for about 12 years--having trouble finding this style in his size in my town. So last time I discovered Dodds Shoe Co. and was able to get exactly what I wanted. This year's birthday slippers also came from Dodds for the same reason. The shoes arrived in a very short time and were just what I wanted. Will definitely come back to Dodds when the need arises.
Beautiful shoe, wish it was available in a 44. Based upon other reviews, I ordered a size down for my husband and in fact he needs his true size.
Easy exchange for a different shoe since this one wasn't available in 44.
